If you're (or have ever been) in a high-stress or toxic relationship, you know these questions:

  • Why do I say yes when I know darn well that the outcome of what I'm agreeing to will not be desirable?
  • Why can't I say NO when I really feel like saying no?
  • Why am I starting to doubt my own integrity, ethics and motives when I know myself for someone whose standards are good?
  • Why do I constantly fall for lies?
  • Why do I feel like I'm losing control and spiraling down into chaos?

...to name just a few.

Everyone who has experienced this type of relationship (which here, at Triumph Over Gray we term "Relationship Type X") knows what I'm talking about.. This can be your partner, your parent, your child -- but the symptoms and outcomes are the same: you literally ARE losing control.

The art of Emotional Self Defense is about stopping the spiral and protecting yourself from further damage.

The thing of it is, in a nutshell, that you KNOW you're not normally like this. And if you're not normally like this - what is making you be like this? There is only one logical answer: you're under an emotional attack -- and unless you fight back, or at least learn how to put up the needed defenses, the situation is very unlikely to change on its own.

➡️Just like the art of physical self-defense is a set of skills aimed at stopping the aggressor who is threatening your physical life and wellbeing, the art of emotional self-defense is a set of skills to stop someone who is threatening your emotional wellbeing (i.e. sanity, levels of stress, your ability to function, etc.)

The purpose of this workshop if twofold:
1. Help you understand exactly what is going on
2. Learn a set of skills (comebacks, reactions, steps to take, etc.) that will protect you from the onslaught: help you bring down your stress levels and get your life out of chaos to the point of where you can think clearly and function as your normal self

 

IN THIS WORKSHOP WE WILL COVER:

  • The 12 tactics that are used against you in these dynamics: how to spot them and how to respond properly -- in a way that is not going to suck you in into another nervous breakdown
  • Your bill of rights: which ones of your wishes are legit and which are selfish (this being a point of confusion for many, and a weak spot for being played a sucker)
  • Setting healthy boundaries: how to do this comfortable, without feeling like you're being a jerk or fearing that people will dislike you for doing so
  • Stress reduction and prevention techniques: how to stop the "toxic partner" from driving you to a breaking point, reduce the levels of stress and mitigate high-conflict situations
  • How to detect, stop and/or prevent verbal and emotional abuse: learn to respond/react in a way that puts a stop to these toxic behaviors

 

Each week we will work through one tactic: 

  • Learn what it looks like and how spot it before its used against you unawares
  • Answer related questions
  • Practice different reactions/behaviors that will turn the dynamics around

▶️Our goal in this module is to get to the bottom of what is going on in your specific situation and offer you a solution to fix what needs to be fixed.

 

THE MODULES TAKE PLACE IN A FUN, FLEXIBLE, AND VERY EFFECTIVE FORMAT:

 

Our sessions are designed to be as unintrusive and as non-disruptive to your life as possible -- this is we've selected what is called ASYNCHRONOUS format

  • After you sing up, we will schedule our introductory session, and I will meet with you in a video conference -- OR a chat room, where you can watch a recorded introduction and then have the opportunity to ask your questions
  • I will leave you with some homework: journaling, exercises, assessments and tests to take, etc.
  • I will be checking in a couple times per week for questions on the above
  • I will also be sending you additional materials to read or watch, if needed (in most cases it is)
  • When we meet again, we will discuss progress and go to the next st
