Babies get earaches very often. An old fold remedy is to use garlic oil in the ear. However, I personally have always felt a bit uncomfortable putting anything INTO the baby’s ear. Not to mention the hassle that it involves, with heating up the oil, squeezing garlic… as your baby is screaming. So, I came up with this oil: you simply run it around the ear.
Here is a highlight of some of the main Ingredients:
Olive oil: This is a natural oil that is derived from the olives, the fruit of olive tree. The predominant fatty acid in olive oil is a monounsaturated fat called oleic acid which consists of 73% of the total oil content. Studies have shown that oleic acid helps to lower inflammation and may also be critical on genes associated with cancer. The main protection against inflammation is enhanced by the antioxidants. Key among these antioxidants includes oleocenthal whose functioning has been compared to ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory drug.
Garlic: When crushed and heated together with some sesame/olive oils, garlic cloves has been applied for centuries to help ease the pain of earaches.
Kalanchoe: Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is the most recognizable of the 100 species of Kalanchoe plants. It is a succulent perennial with scallo-shaped leaves and umbels of flower clusters and is native to Madagascar. Phytochemical review of the plant extract show it is rich in essential chemical compounds such as flavonoids, phenolic compound, tannins and macro elements such as magnesium, calcium and potassium. Pharmacological analysis shows that the extract exhibits antifungal, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities.
Valerian, Leonurus and St. John's wort are calming, and also reduce inflamation.
Sage helps reduce inflamation and open up eustasian tubes, the blockage in which is responcible for most earaches
Calendula is a great anticeptic, anti-fungal and anti-viral. It also has anti-inflamatory and calming effects. Other well known uses for calendula are its cancer-fighting and mucle relaxing properties.
The oils of Seabuckthorn and Ylang Ylang help with absobtion, thus making the around-the-ear use possible without losing any of the healing properties of the oil
